The co. introduces the new 53LT, a high-performance, low-cost thermal-transfer printer. Available in both intermittent and continuous-motion models, the product provides many of the advanced features of more expensive thermal-transfer printers, including 300 dpi resolution, printer resident bar codes, cassette ribbon loading, large 600-m ribbon capacity and thermal printhead. The printer can be equipped with an optional external Ethernet device to enable remote changeovers and the centralized control of multiple printers via plant-wide networks. This compact printer can be easily integrated with a wide range of host equipment such as vertical- and horizontal form/fill/seal systems, primary labelers, thermoformers and overwrapping equipment. The printer comes standard with an operator keypad and Windows-based, full-featured label design software, and it can mark labels and a variety of substrates for packaged products with expiration dates, product identification information, lot/batch numbers, company logos and more. The product offers a print area of up to 2.08-in. wide and 1.18-in. long. The printer's continuous motion offers a print area of up to 2.08-in. wide and 1.97-in. long and can print at speeds of up to 400 mm/sec.
