PCR tubes

-- Packaging Digest, 2/1/2008 2:00:00 AM

Through allegedly strenuous engineering and testing, the co. says it's now boosted the amount of post-consumer resin (PCR) to 60 percent in tube heads and 70 percent in tube sleeves, claiming that it's the only tubemaker capable of using the PCR in the tube heads. The PCR is used for most standard tube sizes and a variety of head/neck finishes, the co. adds, noting that its 3-layer extrusion process isolates the PCR as the middle layer, preventing contact with the tube's contents.
