Spa kit brings star treatments home

Located on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, Ole Henriksen's Hollywood Spa boasts a star-studded client list that includes Renee Zellweger, Jessica Alba, Hugh Jackman, Mark Wahlberg and Linda Evangelista. “One of our number-one selling treatments at the spa is the African Red Tea body cocktail,” explains Ole Henriksen president and CEO Nadine Tapia explains. “What we wanted to do was encapsulate the products into a three-system, at-home treatment for the clients who love to come to the spa but can't always get there.”

The result: A gift-ready kit, with a removable outer label, containing a scrub, mask and self-heating body soufflé, each in shallow, wide PET jars. Also included is an informational card that is manufactured for use in a bath-and-shower environment. Label Impressions, Inc. (www.labelimpressions.com), prints the card on a Nilpeter (www.nilpeter.com) flexo press using 3 spot colors and a double-varnish (UV and aqueous) on FiberStone paper, a tree-free, water-resistant paper made from calcium carbonate and HDPE.

This project was a fulfilling challenge to create. As the creative lead, I was inspired by vintage hatboxes and the actual colors of african red tea. Taking the #1 spa treatment from Ole''s spa on Sunset Boulevard and bottling it for at-home enjoyment was a great strategy. The kit sold out at Sephora!

From concept sketch to final production, my vendors were the best partners and I could not have met our holiday deadlines without them.
