Covert markers

-- Packaging Digest, 11/1/2009 1:00:00 AM

IntelliMark is a product-identification system that provides brand authentication through microscopic markers embedded in products such as consumer merchandise, secure documents, food and apparel. The markers, about the width of a single hair, can be seen and identified using the co.’s IdentifyIRT and IlluminatIRT instruments. The covert markers allow for several levels of hidden security and the ability to verify contents, monitor environmental conditions and identify origin in case of contamination or counterfeiting. The product has already been successfully deployed in the pharmaceutical industry for chemical verification of drug content in branded consumer drugs.
