Packaging design: Agrolabs launches liquid nutrition products in a single-serve ‘shot format’

AgroLabs Inc. has expanded into the “shot format” category (convenient, single-serve shots). The first two products in the shot format collection will be Wheatgrass BOOST™ and Peaceful Sleep™ in 3-oz bottles that sell for $2.99. Wheatgrass is usually only available in health food stores and juice bars, but Wheatgrass BOOST brings all of the nutritional benefits of this popular ingredient to the market in an affordable, convenient and delicious shot format.
Wheatgrass juice is not an easily accessibly product, as it must either be grown naturally or obtained from a health food store or juice bar as a shot or in health food stores in the powder or pill form. These pills, which are not easy to swallow, call for high dosages of seven or more pills, and the powder format does not mix well with liquid and often has an unsatisfactory taste. “AgroLabs is proud to introduce the first ready-to-drink, high quality wheatgrass shot, which is preservative and chemical free and offers a delicious taste to consumers,” says Kerry Kirk, a spokesperson for AgroLabs. “Wheatgrass has been widely known as an energy boost for decades, and it now offers a great healthy alternative to the popular energy shots on the market today.”
In addition to the launch of Wheatgrass BOOST, consumers will also find Peaceful Sleep available in shot format. Peaceful Sleep consists of chamomile extract, lavender, L-Theanine, passion flower extract and other key ingredients to help provide for a soothing, restful night of sleep. “We are thrilled to continue our reputation as the driving force in liquid nutrition by bringing consumers a new collection in the shot format,” says Kirk.
The 3-oz HDPE bottles are supplied by Berry Plastics (www.berryplastics.com) and Apogee Containers (www.apogeecontainers.com). The shrink-sleeve labels, which are made from 50-micron PET shrink film and are rotogravure printed in seven to 10 colors, are supplied by Zion Shrink Sleeve (www.zionshrinksleeve.com).
