Pactiv recognized by SUBWAY restaurant chain for sustainability efforts
The SUBWAY restaurant chain presented its Sustainability Award to Pactiv for its salad bowl and lid, used by the SUBWAY chain in 23,400 locations around the world. The Pactiv PETE product is made from a minimum of 25 percent post-consumer recycled content, primarily derived from recycled Coca-Cola brand soda and water bottles. In addition, Pactiv's PWP Industries, working together with SUBWAY, re-designed the bowls to use less plastic material while still being able to hold the same amount of food.

Conference of international sustainability experts held at Henkel
The Board of Trustees for Sustainability at Arizona State University (ASU) met with international experts from industry, the sciences and political leaders for a sustainability conference at Henkel’s global headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany from June 30 to July 2. The topics discussed ranged from the role of multinational companies and political programs to sustainability science in higher education. In North America, Henkel markets a wide range of consumer and industrial brands including Dial soaps, Purex laundry detergents, and Loctite adhesives.

CaseStack premieres new company website, streamlines user experience
Officials with CaseStack, a provider of outsourced logistics solutions to consumer packaged goods companies throughout North America, announced today the launch of their new company website, www.casestack.com. For the redesign, CaseStack partnered with Fayetteville, Ark.-based web design company Sharp Hue.

PolyOne achieves certification for eco-friendly colorants and additives
PolyOne Corporation announced that its OnColor BIO and OnCap BIO masterbatches have been granted OK Compost certification by AIB Vincotte, marking the first time this has been awarded to a full range of colorants and additives. AIB Vincotte, an independent inspection organization, grants OK Compost certification after verifying that a product meets EN 14832, a standard for compostability recognized in Europe, Asia and North America. Products meeting this standard are authorized to use the OK Compost label, which guarantees the item is biodegradable in an industrial composting plant.

All-Fill/Alpha Checkweighers increases engineering capacity
All-Fill and Alpha Checkweighers announces the addition to its Engineering staff at its Exton, PA headquarters. This expansion will further accelerate in the timely design and manufacture of its lines of auger fillers and checkweighers.

  • Ben Butler joins All-Fill and Alpha Checkweighers as an Electrical Designer responsible for overall electrical and control and implementation of fillers and checkweighers.

  • Viet Tran rejoins All-Fill as a Senior Mechanical Engineer from a previous position with All-Fill in 1999. Viet will be involved in the design, fabrication of parts and assemblies used in both fillers and checkweighers.

  • Dustin Wadsworth joins All-Fill and Alpha Checkweighers as an entry-level Engineering Assistant/CAD Technician responsible for engineering drawing creation, modifications, and updates.
