Tetra Pak initiates Forest Stewardship Council-labeled cartons with Coop in Switzerland Tetra Pak will begin supplying carton packages in Switzerland bearing the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) label. Starting with a range of packages for Coop stores later this month, Tetra Pak plans to offer around 340 million FSC-labeled packages to Swiss customers next year, representing around 60 percent of its annual sales in this market.

Reynolds Group Holdings Limited announces anticipated funding of Pactiv acquisition Reynolds Group Holdings Limited announced that it intends to finance the acquisition of Pactiv Corporation and associated transaction costs with a combination of approximately US$1.5 billion of additional indebtedness pursuant to an amendment to its existing Senior Secured Credit Facility, approximately US$3.5 billion of new senior indebtedness, of which approximately US$2.0 billion is expected to be secured, and approximately US$734 million of new equity and available cash.

Taghleef Industries has successfully started its new production line for NATIVIA biodegradable film Over a month earlier than planned, Taghleef Industries has successfully started the production of the new NATIVIA film from its plant in San Giorgio di Nogaro, Italy. The start-up of the new line took place on August 18th, 2010 and since the following week the commercial production has commenced successfully. The first shipments of NATIVIA will be made beginning of September 2010. NATIVIA is based on NatureWorks PLA biopolymers, marketed under the brand name Ingeo, 100% made from renewable resources. NATIVIA is a biodegradable and compostable film complying with the European standard EN13432.
