Packaging helps Gardein receive top honors from Retail Council of Canada

Gardein Homestyle Beefless Tips and Gardein Seven Grain Crispy Tenders were named the best new foods in the frozen prepared foods and entrees category at the 18th Annual Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards, which was hosted this Wednesday by the Retail Council of Canada. The two frozen entrees were commended for their clean, crisp package design, and the resealable attributes of their packaging. 20110616-Gardein_GrandPrix


Jury members also evaluated the presentation and packaging, product attributes, innovation, and originality and overall value to the consumer of the meat-free foods. Comments from the jury included: "Original, tasty and convenient;" :Easy to make, and fulfills a need for more meat-alternative products;" "Good looking;" and "Easy to open, close and store.."
Since launching in 2009, Gardein has received notable international recognition and industry accolades. Gardein's founder Yves Potvin, a food industry pioneer and CEO of Garden Protein International, was named Leader of the Year by the British Columbia Food Processors Association (BCFPA), in recognition for his inspiring business leadership and mentorship, positive contribution to the community and environmental sustainability with Gardein line of meatless foods. 


In addition being available at Canadian grocers, Gardein can be found in freezer aisle at U.S. retailers.
