BWAY Corp. to acquire Ropak

BWAY Corp., a supplier of rigid containers, is acquiring Ropak Packaging, a rigid container manufacturer currently owned by the LINPAC Group. "Ropak is known for innovative products and exceptional customer service," according to Kenneth Roessler, BWAY president and CEO."Integrating Ropak into our business creates an excellent opportunity to broaden our product portfolio and expand our reach. The transaction is a natural and exciting combination."


Mission Micro Molding to expand

Mission Micro Molding Corp., an injection-molding specialist in Mission Viejo, CA., is expanding its facility and acquiring new equipment. The expansion includes a larger cleanroom, with more space for assembly; and new lines for small-part injection-molded components. "It is a great opportunity for us to expand and meet our customers needs for both injection molding and assembly in a cleanroom environment," says president Lisa Carr.

 

 

Praxis Packaging names director of operations
Praxis Packaging, a full-service packaging firm in Grand Rapids, MI, has hamed Michael Bourdo to serve as director of operations. Bourdo brings more than 20 years of management experience, including manufacturing management and corporate planning, to the company's senior management team.

 

 

 

Microscan barcode scanner wins award at China's Industrial Automation Show
Microscan's QX-870 industrial laser barcode scanner has won the 2012 Most Popular Product Award, given during the recent Industrial Automation Show in Shanghai, China. The award commends technical innovation and market influence in the automation industry. According to judges, the scanner was honored because of its wide implementation by the Chinese State Food and Drug Administration for regulation and data tracking using newly-mandated barcode printing on pharmaceutical packaging.
