Posted by Rick Lingle, Technical Editor -- Packaging Digest, 12/20/2012 8:52:19 AM

PouchJacketPouchjackets are a convenient, economical and user-friendly packaging solution for a wide variety of products. They are made with effective laminated barrier film structures that protect the contents and allow for long shelf-life. Available in many styles and custom sizes, they can be printed with up to nine gloss, matte and metallic ink colors on state-of-the art rotogravure and offset printing presses. Ideal for food items, pet treats, coffee, tea, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, agrochemicals, grass and bird seed and many other applications.

Key features and benefits

• Cost-effective and Efficient - Pouches use less material and cost less to make than many other types of containers. They are lightweight, packaged flat and efficient to ship. Pouches often hold more product with less packaging material, and take less landfill space than bulky rigid containers.

• Value-added - Pouches with high impact and high resolution graphics, and creative shapes and constructions add product value and helps to differentiate our customers' brands.

• Convenient - Pouches made with tear notches and zipper reclosable features add convenience, and they are also easily flattened and disposed of after use. Some special use pouches can be boiled or microwaved, which today's busy consumers appreciate.

• Safe and Versatile - Spouts and other fitments offer spill control and tamper-evidence. Special barrier films protect the product from contamination during processing and while on the shelf.
