Shrink sleeves give hair-care products animal magnetism

Jenni Spinner, Senior Editor -- Packaging Digest, 1/2/2013 4:38:00 PM

Tara Smith vegan haircare lineThe Tara Smith Vegan hair-care line consists of high-end products targeted to clients that care as much about kindness to animals as they do the beauty of their locks. The namesake stylist behind the brand, then, wanted the bottles to impart its good-citizen message of natural, organic, animal-friendly ingredients, while turning heads.

The company selected Boston Round HDPE bottles, available from manufacturer M&H Plastics, and paired them with color-coordinated flat flip-top caps, which were printed around the periphery with Smith's signature. Perhaps the most catching aspect of the package: 360-degree pressure-sensitive labels, each featuring a different colorful exotic bird. The labels for the 100mL bottles were created by CCL Label; for the 250mL bottles, they were manufactured by CCL Decorative Sleeves, and were applied and shrunk onto the product bottles by Blue Frog Packing.

The Tara Smith Vegan hair-care products are available at Marks & Spencer, a U.K. retailer.
