Robert Mann Packaging acquires Cypress Packaging and Supply
Robert Mann Packaging (RMP), a corrugated/carton company in Salinas, CA, has acquired Castroville, CA-based Cypress Packaging and Supply, a supplier of corrugated packaging and allied items to the California central coast area. The acquisition covers the current inventory of Cypress Packaging's Castroville warehouse and will begin manufacturing corrugated containers for existing Cypress customers, a move intended to help provide faster turnaround and high quality products.

 

Pundits to speak at Paperboard Packaging Council meeting
The Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) is inviting two public policy experts to speak at its Spring Meeting: Outlook and Strategies Conference on April 3-5, 2013 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN. Tiffany N. Adams, Vice President of Public Affairs for the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), will discuss the significance of current legislation affecting U.S. manufacturers. Also speaking: Paul Noe, the Vice President for Public Policy at the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA), where he works on clean air regulation, renewable energy, product stewardship, sustainability, and regulatory reform. Amcor Rigid Plastics expands Orlando bottle facility
Amcor Rigid Plastics has executed a $20 million expansion project at its Orlando, FL bottle manufacturing facility. The expanded facility will help the firm centralize preform manufacturing and warehousing while delivering sustainability advantages including improved logistics and shipping efficiencies, according to company representatives. The new facility, already in operation, will handle production of hot- and cold-fill PET bottles for a range of beverages, as well as HDPE pharma containers.

 

Dorner Manufacturing announces leadership appointments.
Dorner Manufacturing has appointed two leadership positions within the company: Terry Schadeberg as President and CEO and Brian Baumgart as CFO. Both Schadeberg and Baumgart come to Dorner from Nord Gear Corp., a supplier of industrial power transmission equipment based in Waunakee, Wis. In their most recent positions at Nord Gear Corp., Schadeberg served as President and Baumgart was CFO.
