UL DQS logoUL DQS Inc., one of the leading certification bodies for management systems in the world, is offering two-day training classes on British Retail Consortium (BRC) IoP for Packaging. Classes will be held at UL University facilities in Raleigh, NC, on Mar. 14-15 and in Chicago at the UL Northbrook facility on May 7-8.

BRC IoP is the global standard for food and non-food packaging and packaging materials. It provides a common foundation for the certification of companies that supply packaging to manufacturers and retailers.

"Providing food that is safe has always been of utmost concern and importance to manufacturers and producers of food. And today, with a global economy and international supply chain, it has never been more challenging," says Ganesh Rao, president/CEO, UL DQS Inc. "We take this complicated subject and make it understandable so that attendees learn the material and how to implement it in their workplace."

Contamination of food can occur at any step in the process, from farming the food to final consumption. To provide safe, quality products the processes used to produce these items must be verified to be safe from bacteria that can cause food borne illnesses.

The UL DQS BRC IoP course is designed for participants who need to implement the BRC Packaging Standard in their organizations. It also provides an in-depth analysis of the BRD Code that uses discussion, Q&A and feedback opportunities for successful implementation of the standard and promotes the industry best practices for product safety, quality and legality.

It is suitable for packaging project managers who lead implementation teams for packaging, or for anyone interested in how to implement BRC IoP in their organization. The class runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
