Robot

-- Packaging Digest, 9/1/2006

A six-axis, high-speed, high-performance robot known as the HP50 is fitted with a multifunction end-of-arm tool consisting of a rail-type gripper that demonstrates the ability to pack blow-molded bottles into two different tray configurations using a 6311 bottle matrix. A vacuum gripper handles the trays. It is claimed that the gripper does not have to be adjusted between bottle types, with the cell including a horizontal storage magazine for the accumulation of empty corrugated trays prior to robotic packing.
