Palletizer cell

-- Packaging Digest, 1/1/2008

The co.'s M-16iC Robotic Mini palletizer cell incorporates a FANUC M-16iC robot to create single-pallet, dual-pallet and multiple-pallet cell configurations. The M-16iC robot can be specified for payloads of 22 or 44 lb and has a reach of 68 or 59 in., depending on the payload capacity. The system features a controller and an easy-to-use teach pendant that simplifies setup and operator training. Conveyors of 4 or 6 ft in length feed the filled and sealed cases to the palletizer. Interlocked guarding assures operator safety. Palletizer options include: a pallet-discharge conveyor; a pallet-infeed conveyor; a pallet magazine; a pallet dispenser; a tier/deck sheet rack; and a number of case printing, labeling and stretch wrapping accessories. The robot lifts the cases using either suction cups or mechanical grips, depending on the application. The case is placed on the pallet following a user-defined pattern conveyor or using a robotic vehicle. The pallets may be filled simultaneously from multiple infeeds or one at a time, allowing the system to operate continuously.
