Sorters

-- Packaging Digest, 2/1/2008

The LS-4000E tilt-tray sorter and the LS-4000CB cross-belt sorter have been introduced to offer a common platform that enhances system flexibility. They feature a new energy system that is said to reduce operating costs. Equipped with an energy-efficient linear synchronous motor (LSM), the sorters reduce the overall product life-cycle cost without sacrificing speed, capacity and reliability, the co. says. The high-speed LSM eliminates contact between moving parts, leading to low wear and tear and noise levels. The LS-4000E can sort single-tray items measuring up to 39X39 in. and weighing up to 110 lb; the LS-4000CB sorter handles items measuring up to 24X24 in. and up to 66 lb.
