Label printer

Linda Casey -- Packaging Digest, 4/29/2008

The co.’s new 6-in.-wide thermal-transfer bar-code label printers feature all-metal construction with cast-aluminum center walls for added strength. Designed for easy viewing and monitoring of supplies, each printer has a large media window. Other standard features include a USB 2.0 interface and a real-time clock for time-and-date stamping of labels.

Aimed at eliminating the need for a PC to control the device, the printer can be used with a standard PC keyboard and the unit’s flash memory stores label formats. Optionally, the printer can be configured with an Ethernet adapter, applicator interface, internal rewind with stripper sensor, and cutter. The devices retail for $2,095 for 203-dpi models and $2,295 for 300-dpi models.
