Laser coder
Linda Casey -- Packaging Digest, 5/5/2008

As the exclusive U.S. distributor for the Linx brand of small-character continuous ink-jet printers, the co. introduces the new Linx SL (Scribing Laser) coders. The LINX SL101 and SL301, which are offered in 10W and 30W power options respectively, use digital signal processing to help optimize the speed of the mirrors steering the laser beam, allowing the coder to provide high print quality at line speeds of up to 984 ft/min. A range of lenses and beam delivery options allow the laser to be maneuvered into tight, hard to reach spaces, while a variety of beam delivery options allow for different spot sizes, product-to-lens distances and mark fields. The co. says there are virtually no font or graphic restrictions, and the coders’ use of vector fonts enable speed and accuracy when printing codes. Multiple language options are available.
