In the mid-1990s, Brigham Young University professor Lynn Ogden poured his newly invented food into a plastic soda pop bottle, walked across campus and squeezed the concoction into a cup for someone else to try. This July, Fizzix began appearing on the nation's grocery store shelves under Yoplait's Go-Gurt brand. But it took 12 years to get it there.

Coke: Self-cooling bottles coming soon?
Drinks giant Coca-Cola has invented a bottle that chills on the inside when the top is twisted off. Insiders have hinted the technology will be featured in a new drink called Sprite Super Chilled, which could reach the U.K. by next year. The bottles do away with the need to add ice, which dilutes the liquid, but they must be put in a special vending machine to regulate temperature.
