Validated as a remote platform to host IBM data capture applications with IBM’s WebSphere Premises Server 6.1, the Intermec IF61 enables implementers of IBM-based RFID solutions to develop, deploy and maintain RFID business logic on an intelligent RFID reader platform. The IF61 Smart Reader can host distributed applications, which the co. says eliminates the need for a standalone middleware PC or a separate controller device for each RFID reader or at each physical location. The IF61 can be used with the OATedge software platform to capture, filter and convert RFID data into actionable events within a single-edge facility.
