used contest called 'Click&Move® Motion and Automation De$ign Conte$t'. This contest is an extension of our incredibly popular 'University Outreach' program. In this contest, student team project proposals will attempt solve real world problems of their choosing. Simply utilizing industry available tools will allow participants to compete and win monetary awards as well as servo drive hardware. The purpose is to advance motion control technology and knowledge as provided by educational institutions located throughout the U.S.A. and Canada.

As practicing engineers ourselves, we fully understand what educators and institutions have to go through today when preparing students for the real world. Automation in many forms has become a major factor in today's factories, processes, systems, machinery and equipment. Applying the basics of computer science, physics, mathematics, mechanics and electronics is key to not only proving out theories but also putting them to practice. This program is divided up into two phases over a typical academic year to help to identify problems and proving them virtually at first and physically in the end.

Proving out motion control concepts can take an inordinate amount of resources but using the tools through the 'Click&Move® Motion and Automation De$ign Conte$t' can help to reduce this overall challenge and have the opportunity to be compensated for it!

To learn more simply follow the link to 'Click&Move® Motion and Automation De$ign Conte$t'. A dedicated web page providing all the details for each aspect and requirement of the program is noted. This contest could be convenient for those Capstone or Senior design projects, research activities or personal projects the students may have. There is no cost for entering. Our goal is educational awareness to allow students and educators alike the purpose of advancing motion control knowledge, a core technology in today's automated world.

In short, the contest allows submissions over the next 3 weeks as the official beginning. Entries for Phase I must be submitted on or before September 28th, 2012, project submissions are due on December 7th, 2012 and winners will be announced on December 14th, 2012 (via public voting). A web accessible, single page flyer is meant to be shared as needed to spread the opportunity to as many participants as possible. A link is also provided on every page of our web site, www.a-m-c.com. Look for the 'Click&Move® Motion and Automation De$ign Conte$t' logo which will guide participants to the appropriate University Outreach contest web page.

ADVANCED Motion Controls is proud to support the needs of education and continues to be a resource even beyond this contest. For more information, contact Karl Meier at (805) 389-1935 or visit our web site at www.a-m-c.com and look for the 'University Outreach' program.
