The new SQ/2 inkjet printing system allows manufacturers to print high-quality dot-matrix characters on a variety of substrates at a cost-effective price. The system consists of a user-friendly input device, system controller and the option of one or two printheads. It uses the company's patented micro-channeling technology that eliminates the need for a costly array of fluid valves. Ink is simply distributed through a series of channels, keeping production and maintenance costs to a minimum. Each printhead has the capability to print 7x5 or 5x5 dot-matrix characters at speeds up to 200 ft/min. The standard system is designed to run water-based inks for printing on corrugated cases, paper packaging and other porous surfaces. Non-porous surfaces such as plastic, metals, stretch films and coated papers can be printed on with a solvent-based model.
