The Optyx(R)SG/P is described as a new optical inspection system designed specifically for makers of OTC and regulated solid-dose pharmaceuticals, with a special focus on softgels. Reportedly FDA 21 CFR part 11-compliant, the system automatically inspects softgel capsules at speeds to 1 million/hr, identifying and removing defects and foreign capsules from the product stream, as well as the smallest color and shape defects, including air bubbles and misshapen capsules.
