Prescale® is a tactile pressure-indicating sensor film that helps manufacturers in research and development, design and quality control/quality assurance guarantee consistent package integrity. Used to assess pressure distribution and magnitude between any contacting surfaces, the film is a good tool for use in manufacturing process control and machine/component inspection, the co. states. Placed between two contacting surfaces, the film instantly and permanently changes color. This change correlates to the specific amount of pressure applied. Precise pressure magnitude in psi or kg/cm2 can easily be determined by comparing color variations to a color correlation chart.
