Speed control

Article-Speed control

The co. releases its MDrive34Plus™ speed control, which utilizes a NEMA size 34 high-torque brushless 1.8-deg motor, with NEMA size 17 and 23 motors also available. The product includes a programmable oscillator along with an easy-to-program parameter setup, two separate configurable speed control inputs that may be preset and digitally selected, an output frequency up to 5 mHz, and three adjustable modes of operation: voltage; current; and PWM. Step and direction output signals may be used to control a second axis that follows the speed of the first, simplifying wiring and controlling machines with large tables or wide conveyors while eliminating drift between motor speeds. The speed control accepts a broad input voltage range from +12- to +75-VDC, delivering enhanced performance and speed. Oversized input capacitors are used to minimize power line surges, reducing problems that can occur with long runs and multiple drive systems.
