Packaging cannabis flower or ground cannabis into jars can be challenging because the weight variability of empty jars is often greater than the total weight of product to be packaged. Spee-Dee Packaging Machinery addresses the problem with its recently released automated cannabis jar filler with integrated multihead weigher.

The filler’s tare gross weighing feature eliminates filling inconsistencies by weighing the empty jar and then subtracting its weight from the gross weight of the filled jar to calculate the net weight of filled cannabis.

With accuracy to 0.01 grams and fill-size range of 3.5 to 7 grams, the machine rejects underweight and costly overweight filled containers. Vibratory settling helps the cannabis flow into jars.

The machine’s simple design, stainless steel frame, and open base enable thorough, easy cleaning. In addition, the filler’s sanitary funnel and conveyor ensure hygienic filling. No-tool starwheels and rails assist with quick changeover.

Spee-Dee will be exhibiting this new product at Pack Expo Las Vegas 2021 (Las Vegas Convention Center, September 27-29), Booth C-2607.
