Horizontal cartoner: Product of the Day

Horizontal cartoner: Product of the Day

Today’s packagers are looking for their machinery to do more and more and request, if not require, machinery builders to make improvements to increase efficiencies, lower production costs and provide gentle product handling in order to reduce waste and improve packaged product quality. One candidate to match those requirements is the Flex 1 Horizontal Cartoner, which Chicago-based Triangle bills as the “complete bag-in-box system.”

That latter claim is explained by the fact that the cartoner can be integrated with a Triangle X-Series VFFS Bagger and direct-mounted Triangle InLine Weigher. To simplify this integrated setup, the use of servo-driven technology eliminates the need to synchronize bagger and cartoner.

The Flex 1 offers a compact 10 ft. x 5.5 ft. footprint and speedy, tool-less changeovers that take less than 15 minutes. The cartoner relies on reliable Rockwell Automation components including Allen Bradley ControlLogix, AB Kinetics Servo Drives and AB PowerFlex AC Drives.

It is appropriate for dry food products such as cereals, crackers and snacks as well as IQF products.

The Flex 1 can load single or twin-pack packages at speeds up to 100 cartons per minute.
