The co.'s environmentally-friendly clamshell package incorporates First Choice Packaging's patented Virtuweld^TM design, which allows the front and back parts to be snapped together, ensuring security without requiring RF or heat sealing. This package used for XO Athletic has been named an IOPP AmeriStar Award winner. First Choice Packaging and paperboard converter, CardPak, contributed to development of the winning clamshell package. The package was designed by LucDesign and employs the co.'s 100-percent post-consumer recycled PET from Integrated Packaging Films. The new package saves approximately 120 thousand lbs of virgin plastic/year, the co. states.
