Clear bowl/mug is sweet for jam

A transparent sleeve label on a transparent PS bowl debuts for Breakfast jam Extra, a top-selling jam from Germany's Zentis, which has relaunched its packaging. The 200-g bowl from Greiner Packaging (www.greiner-gpi.com) clearly displays the delicious-looking product inside. Robert Obermayr, product group director, underscores the uniqueness of the package: “The bowl/mug is a technical novelty. Our experience with cup sleeving really came in useful.”

Launched in October 2008, the Breakfast Jam Extra is providing more fruity highlights on German breakfast tables by showing off the fruitiness of the bread spread to its full advantage. Flanking the oval logotype and ingredients information printed on the front panel of the clear sleeve label are colorful, fruit-filled illustrations that grab attention for the 14 flavors in the jam line. The dimensions of the new bowl fit the trend toward shrinking households and the demands of young families and singles. Topped with a resealable PET overlid and a brightly color-coded and printed membrane seal, the stylish bowl shape has an opening dia of 95 mm.
