Configuration tool

The co. brings a new feature to its RSLogix programming software, adding DeviceNet products to a Logix-based control system. This free configuration tool, the co. says, automatically defines data tags, helping reduce the amount of programming time required. The RSLogix 5000 DeviceNet Tag Generator reportedly prompts engineers through a series of steps to select the right scanner and to configure each device more quickly. The generator supports the co.'s Logix programmable automation controllers, versions 12 and higher, and DeviceNet scanners, and is said to be currently included with the newly released RSNetWorx for DeviceNet v7.00.00.
