PMC’s 1300P Barrier Plus™ machine series forms the world’s first-ever convolute pre-printed plastic containers, says the company. The PMC 1300P expands the size possibilities in round or non-round recessed bottom plastic containers, creating packages up to 12 inches in height with large cross sections. Barrier Plus™ containers formed on the PMC 1300P feature double sealed recessed bottoms providing high barrier to keep product fresh. The round, elongated or flat top curl provides hoop strength, accommodates a snap-on lid or membrane and makes container opening and re-closing easier. The PMC 1300P Series is designed for maximum production flexibility in response to the demands of downstream product production, says the company. The system is said to be capable of producing at speeds up to 115 CPM, and features variable-speed drives with PLC controls to automatically adjust package production rates to variations in product flow. Cycle stop and idle mode functions are built in, allowing PMC 1300P Series machines to stop and start production on-demand with a minimum of material waste and lag time.
