The new BEL 5150E semi-automatic case-forming/packing/sealing machine from Wexxar Bel is designed for companies in the ecommerce supply chain, particularly those with low- to mid-speed packaging operations.

The machine features automatic case-size changeover to accommodate the frequent changes in case size that ecommerce vendors face. Servo motors integrated into all three changepoints — length, width, and height — enable quick, automated size change. Selecting the optimal case size for the order saves shipping and dunnage costs, and helps reduce the chance of product damage.

Designed for integration with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, the BEL 5150E can track the packaging flow from order picking to shipping. As picked orders travel to the packing station, the ERP system signals the machine and operator with advice on the best case for that order. The equipment then changes to the appropriate size, and the operator loads the correctly sized box. After packing, each case is verified, sealed, and labeled for shipping.

The equipment can changeover up to 30 different box sizes, and that capacity can be expanded, if necessary.

Wexxar Bel will be exhibiting this new product at WestPack 2021 (Anaheim, CA; August 10-12), Booth 5221.
