The co. has launched the UltraPeel™ retort membrane end, a robust, peelable membrane closure designed for heat-and-eat food applications. The end is the first such closure made in the Americas, delivering enhanced consumer convenience while accommodating the rigors of thermal processing, the co. notes. The membrane is the result of combined technical expertise in retortable laminated structures and convenience closures. The closure has lower opening forces than conventional scored convenience ends, no sharp edges and uses current double-seam technology requiring minimal seamer modifications, the co. says.
