European housewares giant taps new look for U.S.


Team Intl. Group, Miami, a distributor/manufacturer of small electrical appliances and personal-care products under the Kalorik®, Team®w Romix® and Exclusiv® brands, has paired up with Badalato/Ginsberg ( to create new packaging, retail merchandising and other marketing initiatives for small domestic products to launch this fall in major U.S. retail stores including Macy's and Linens-N-Things. Known throughout Europe for its quality and exciting designs, the Kalorik housewares brand will be positioned in dramatic corrugated display cases (sourced in China), printed in four colors plus varnish with graphics that feature the items in large, mostly black and white photo vignettes on white backgrounds. The designs are accented with product copy and elements in red type. Side panels are printed with an overall black background, accented in red and white. The U.S. line will include seven to 10 additional stockkeeping units (SKUs). Says Uri Murad, vp of Team Intl. USA, “Badalto/Ginsberg's understanding of the retail space as well as their experience and success in the housewares market ,made the decision to choose them an easy one. They will develop our brand through a number of initiatives, including packaging design and merchandising.”

Adds Jeffrey Ginsberg of Badalato/Ginsberg, “We photographed the products in such a way as to make the packages and the products pleasing to the eye. The products only have a few seconds to catch the consumer's attention. The best hope is for consumers to pick up the carton and read. If we accomplish this, we have done our job.”
