American families are always on the go and there just isn't time for a hot breakfast. So you grab a bowl of cold cereal or go out the door with a snack bar. Not anymore, thanks to Cathead Foods, LLC, Morgantown, NC, and its GoStax™ Heat-and-Eat Pancakes. These frozen pancakes come with pats of a blend of butter and maple syrup in a carton. The pats melt over the pancakes as they heat in the microwave, and piping hot, great-tasting pancakes are ready in only one minute. GoStax pancakes, which can be eaten right from the carton, are available in buttermilk, blueberry, mini and, most recently, buttermilk with North Carolina sausage. The cartons, which contain about 4 oz of product and sell for $1.00 to $1.50, are supplied by Americraft Carton, Inc. (www.americraft.com). In order to contain the syrup/butter mixture when the pancakes are heated, the cartons are formed without any separations at the corners of the bottom panels. Go Stax™ were introduced in vending machines in southeastern states last October and are now moving into grocery stores in North Carolina.
