The theme behind EskoArtwork  presence at PackPrint 09 was Connect More. While the theme primarily relates to how the company blanketed the show floor with presences at several partners’ booths, including Compose, Epson, Hewlett-Packard, Hybrid Integration, Pitman, Presstek, Screen USA, Sun Chemical and Xerox.
At the event, Dale Lyjak talked with PD about connecting digital printing and prepress knowledge, which was gained from the commercial printing’s integration of digital technology, with packaging printers and perhaps more importantly brand owners.
He noted that the combination of digital printing and prepress tools can result in the more automated and predictable results. Lyjak also opined that digital package printing is going to pick up speed and “HP is going to have one of its most successful years ever.”
Print service providers have long known the benefits of using modern premedia technology though. Lyjak says that brand owners now need to pay close attention as advances in prepress technology. Why? “Because it can free up the brand owner to go anywhere they want,” he remarks.
Advanced technologies promise consistent results across print providers and output devices. If these technologies live up with their promises, this would allow a brand owner to take work from printer to printer without little worry about consistent, repeatable results.
