A new user interface for the co.'s 1310 ink-jet printer, similar to its Excel® model, is designed to reduce the operator's learning curve and training time, thus speeding up integration. The 1310 is said to start and stop without the need for cleaning, with an automated back-flush nozzle that automatically cleans itself at system startup and shutdown and a built-in pump that enables it to move from line to line quickly. A heated printhead is said to maintain proper ink viscosity, which is crucial in environments with frequent temperature shifts.
