Are we on the cusp of another plastic-to-paper switch at a more micro level? Here’s what I learned at the show.

A label can make or break your package. That’s why many brand owners and marketers attend Labelexpo (September 10-12; Rosemont, IL) — even though the event is mostly targeted to label manufacturers and converters — to see what’s new in labeling.

Opening day, I was there, with a specific agenda: to determine if we’re seeing a resurgence of interest in paper labels because many brands are moving away from plastic packaging, and to learn what is new in paper labels.

While there, I heard from a number of sources:

Avery Dennison
Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR)
Domino
DuPont
Fangda
Flexcon
HP
National Paper Co.
SmartSolve
Smurfit Westrock
Sun Chemical

I share my insights and new things I learned — including a material I never knew was used as label stock — in the 12-minute video.
