Labeltronix prints the branded portion, and brand owners print the variable data in a pre-designed place. This replaces the mishmash of slapped-on labels that could spoil the branding.

A new label printing approach from Labeltronix helps cannabis packagers present a polished brand image while complying with cannabis labeling regulations, and all with a single label. The company’s Dynamic Hybrid Label solution makes separate, often unsightly, compliance labels unnecessary by putting the printing of variable compliance data in the hands of the brand owner.

Labeltronix prints the branded portion of the pressure-sensitive labels at its facility in Anaheim, CA. The labels are designed with blank space for variable information such as harvest date, expiration date, batch number, test number, and 2D code and/or barcode.

The branded portion is printed flexographically and can be decorated with varnish, hot stamping, embossing, and other embellishments. When the brand owner is ready to label its containers, it prints the variable information on the branded labels at its own location.

Labeltronix supplies the brand owner with a bundled solution comprising an Epson ColorWorks inkjet label printer, software, and tech support and training. The finished labels can be applied to glass and plastic jars, tubes, cans, and pouches.

Benefits of the approach include greater labeling flexibility, reduced label waste, and better label quality. The hybrid solution can also be used for other applications, including wine labels.

Labeltronix will be exhibiting this new solution at WestPack 2021 (Anaheim, CA; August 10-12), Booth 5158.
