3-Day Crash Course Demystifies Medical Device Packaging
The Fundamentals of Medical Device Packaging course equips those new to packaging — or to medical devices — with tools and insights to further their careers.
Since its inception two years ago, The Fundamentals of Medical Device Packaging course, created by the Medical Device Packaging Technical Committee (MDPTC) of the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP), has been filling an education void in the medical device packaging industry—and putting the “fun” back into fundamentals.
The Fundamentals of Medical Device Packaging course takes place February 3-5, 2025, at MD&M West, which is co-located with WestPack and the new Sustainable Manufacturing Expo, a first-of-its-kind event devoted entirely to sustainability.
In true show-and-tell fashion, classroom learning is reinforced with hands-on machinery demonstrations on the expo floor: Attendees can not only see different pouching materials discussed in the classroom, but they can watch those pouches being formed and sealed in exhibitor booths.
Divided into three half-days, the course brings attendees up to speed on critical topics, including sterile barrier materials, equipment validation, and regulatory standards:
Day 1: Students will learn the basics of sterile packaging material selection, sterile barrier system design, and sustainability considerations relating to medical device packaging.
Day 2: Students will be exposed to hands-on training on using sealing equipment and educated on practical skills relating to medical device packaging and manufacturing processes.
Day 3: Students will learn about quality and regulatory requirements for medical device packaging.
Seats are limited to make sure all students get proper attention from the instructors, who are experienced professionals from the industry. Learn more and sign up for the Fundamentals of Medical Device Packaging here.
Besides gaining the knowledge you need, there’s another benefit: Attending all days and gaining your Certificate of Completion earns you continuing professional education (CPE) credits that you can apply toward your Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) requirements.
