3. Cryopak MXP Temperature Logger.
The MXP temperature logger from Cryopak, a division of Integreon Global, is an electronic device that contains an internal digital temperature sensor. The wireless-compatible device captures temperature data and presents it in detailed reports, with data transfer via Windows and a smartphone app.
This logger provides both visual alarms (via colored LEDs) and an audio buzzer to notify users when temperature problems arise. In addition, a light sensor in the device detects and logs when a package has been opened. Primary applications for the logger include pharmaceuticals, life-sciences products, foods and beverages, and cannabis.
“The inclusion of event logging, a light sensor, waterproof capability, and cloud-enabled technology puts this logger into the conversation with other more established brands,” says David Shultis, director of corporate marketing at Integreon Global. “Most surprising is that the price point is extremely attractive to the end user.
“For manufacturers of combination medical device products, this is especially attractive due to the introduction of event logging, plus the other requirements — CFR 21, Part 11-compliant, NIST-traceable — that are so critical to adopting a new product or technology,” he adds, referring to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
“When we set out to design the MXP, we weren’t just looking to create another logger, but to actually develop a platform that we could build around, and this is one of our most significant introductions to the Cryopak Digital brand to date,” Shultis says.
