A new temperature data logger from Onset is designed specifically for ultra-low-temperature transportation and storage of vaccines and pharmaceuticals. The InTemp CX405-RTD Dry Ice Data Logger measures ambient temperatures and also features a built-in temperature probe.

The digital logger is placed outside of the packages being stored or shipped, and the food-grade stainless steel probe is used to take the temperature inside a package. The probe, which is attached to the logger with a 1.5-m cable, can measure temperatures from -95°C (-139°F) to +50°C (+122°F).

The logger uses Bluetooth Low Energy technology to communication with Onset’s mobile app and cloud platform. Thus, users can easily set up the logger and download data, wirelessly. When an excursion occurs — a temperature outside the acceptable range — users receive real-time notifications via email or text.

A visual display lets users check the current temperature, view minimum and maximum temperature readings, and receive a visual alarm when the temperature goes above or below a specified level. The logger can also provide an audible alarm, beeping every 15 seconds.
