From packaging design and materials to technology and automation, this year’s MinnPack event promises to equip attendees with tools and resources to advance their careers and meet packaging challenges head-on.

The event, which takes place October 16–17 at the Minneapolis Convention Center, is part of Advanced Manufacturing Minneapolis and features more than 530 exhibitors representing every facet of manufacturing and packaging.

Vendors will offer a full range of medical packaging supplies and services, such as labeling, 3D printing, sterilization, and flexible packaging materials. For industry professionals interested in sourcing new products, exhibitors are on hand to discuss their solutions as well as demonstrate the latest in automation and robotics revolutionizing packaging lines.

Panels, presentations & education.

In addition to attending free panels and presentations on the exhibit floor, visitors can choose from seven educational tracks, many of which address packaging pain points. For example, Nate Wilhelm, manager, product & package testing at Steris, will explore alternatives to ethylene oxide sterilization on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in his session “How Changing Sterilization Methods Impact Medical Device Packaging Validations.” And a panel discussion the same day at 2:15 p.m. titled “Should I Stay or Should I Go? The Silver Lining of Sticking Around After EU MDR” will cover strategies to smooth the transition to EU MDR compliance.

Visitors will have ample networking opportunities during and after show hours. The event kicks off with a welcome reception open to guests from the five collocated shows that make up Advanced Manufacturing Minneapolis: MD&M (Medical Design & Manufacturing), ATX (Automation Technology Expo), Design & Manufacturing, MinnPack, and Plastec.

Other notable networking events include Careers & Coffee aimed at college students and engineers with less than five years of experience, and booth bar crawls, a meet and greet with participating exhibitors on the expo floor.
