The new Computrac® Vapor Pro® moisture analyzer has won approval and conformity to ASTM method D7191-05, Standard Test Method for Determination of Moisture in Plastics by Relative Humidity, the co. says. Developed as a quick, easy and cost-effective alternative to titration methods, the analyzer was reportedly adopted by ASTM after its most recent round of balloting last fall. The co. notes that many customers have been seeking a reagent-free ASTM method that would allow them to quickly and easily test for moisture in their raw materials and finished products, and sees this as a "safe and cost-effective alternative."
