Plantic names Klöckner Pentaplast distributor for the Americas
Plantic Technologies Ltd. has announced a new distribution agreement in the Americas for its line of the Plantic® biopolymer rigid packaging films in an exclusive partnership with the Klöckner Pentaplast Group, which will market and sell Plantic® rigid packaging films throughout the Americas under its Pentafood® BiofilmTM brand name. Plantic will continue to service the Australian, Asian and European markets directly.

 

IoPP elects Mary Slaga v.p. of chapters
The Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) has elected Mary Slaga vice president-chapters. In this capacity, she shall serve a two-year term on the organizations board of directors and will be responsible for maintaining ongoing communication between the IoPP board and the institute's chapters. Slaga also is a packaging consultant in TricorBraun's Chicago office.

 

Nordson Corporation Announces Election of New Members to Board of Directors
Nordson Corporation announced the election of three new directors to its board along with the re-election of two current directors, all for terms expiring in 2013. The total number of Nordson directors will remain at 12 as the three new directors replace three retired directors. Newly elected to the Nordson Board of Directors are Michael F. Hilton, 55; Victor L. Richey Jr., 52; and Lee C. Banks, 46.


Cereplast, Inc. Recruits Director of Sales & Marketing for Asia
Cereplast, Inc. announced that it has appointed Simon Huang as Director of Sales & Marketing Asia. Mr. Huang is part of Cereplast's ongoing initiative to build a formidable domestic and international sales force for the Company's products.


Document Security Systems, Inc. Acquires Premier Packaging Corporation
Document Security Systems, Inc. (NYSE/AMEX: DMC) ("DSS") a world leader in the development, design and manufacturing of secure identification and authentication technologies for documents, packaging, labels, ID cards and electronic data and assists in the prevention of counterfeiting and brand fraud, announced today that it had acquired Premier Packaging Corporation ("Premier"), a privately held Victor, N.Y.-based provider of high quality packaging solutions.


IMDA announces 2010 Awards Competition

The In-Mold Decorating Association (IMDA) has announced its Fourth Annual Awards Competition. The 2010 Competition will recognize the industry's best in-mold labeled packaging and in-mold decorated durable products. The winning entries are chosen based on creativity in design, engineering and innovation in the following categories: Best Part Design; Best Thin Wall Packaging; Best Injection Mold Part; Best Blow Mold Part; Best IMD Durable Product; Best Label Design and Best Product Family (common style or brand). Entries will be accepted until June 1, 2010.
