A new barrier coating called N-Coat® uses a unique, nano-based technology, the co. reports. An ultra-thin coating is applied on a 48-ga polyester film, resulting in a clear film with a gas barrier that can compete with most metallized structures, the co. says. Advantages of the product include an oxygen barrier of 0.07 cm3/100 in.2/24 hr and flexibility, which virtually eliminates any issues with flex cracking or stress cracking, the co. adds. The co. adds that the coating is water-based and offers, high gloss and clarity.
