Creators and industrialists meet at Beyond Beauty LAB, where the spotlight is on innovation. This space organized in collaboration with Sandra Massonnat, Director of Ferling, is a crucible of creativity for businesses in the beauty industry, given free rein here to express their vision of the year's theme. No limits are imposed, so projects can be designed free of constraint and in the most forward-thinking perspective possible. Relaxing music, the comforting “click” of a compact… the sound environment must be seen as a work of art in itself. Such was the creative challenge of Beyond Beauty Lab 2008.

PharmavisionLab
This year, the Alfonso Maligno group was asked by the organizers of Beyond Beauty Paris to design a LAB in which futuristic concepts of the pharmacy of tomorrow could be showcased: “Exploring Future Trends… a journey into the changes in pharmacies through the place, the human dimension, the product and the experience”. This 400-m2 space in the very center of Pharmameeting took visitors on a dynamic tour of some of the profound changes to be expected in the pharmaceutical world.

Food & Beauty
This exhibit organized in collaboration with SIAL came to life full-blown at Beyond Beauty Paris. Finding wellness and beauty in food is an ancient concept that has at last been adopted in our modern world. The two industries are well aware of the phenomenon, and have moved into the “cosmeto-food” sector in response to new consumer codes. For the first time,SIAL and Beyond Beauty Paris are focusing on the new trend in a series of exhibits, workshops and lectures;Food & Beauty travels to both trade events with a selection of the most innovative, high-impact products in the world today, giving visitors an advance look at tomorrow's world.

Conferences and Summits: the best place to Network
With the market changing before our eyes, Beyond Beauty Paris is the logical place for exclusive conferences and workshops dedicated to beauty professionals, alongside a series of international summits specific to new market segments: natural products, spas, pharmacies and packaging. The extremely popular summits and workshops brought together today's top experts:

NATURAL BEAUTY SUMMIT: Natural Cosmetics and Sustainable Development
The European market for natural and organic cosmetics grows every year by about 20% and, for the first time, topped the 1.4-billion euro mark in 2007 (1). The Natural Beauty Summit Europe, the leading forum for natural cosmetics and sustainability, was organized by Beyond Beauty Paris in partnership with Organic Monitor to explore this new dynamic. Eco-packaging, harmonized standards, success stories and networking… this year's Natural Beauty Summit was an exciting platform for exchange among professionals.

And on 6 October, in the context of Beyond Beauty Paris, the first European label for natural and organic cosmetics was officially launched: NaTrue.

COSMETIC PACK SUMMIT: Eco-packaging and Innovation
The challenge of “clean” packaging is high on the agenda for the world cosmetics industry. Beyond Beauty Paris could do no less than organize a “Cosmetic Pack Summit” to answer the questions and respond to the expectations and concerns of beauty professionals. From the initial design to the materials needed for manufacturing, what solutions are available for cosmetic products? How should they be defined (biodegradable, recyclable, refillable, etc.)? What official recommendations came out of the Grenelle Environment Round Table? One entire day was devoted to a review of these questions by all the key players, manufacturers, official bodies, market observers, brands, distributors… each with a distinct perspective, history of initiatives and wealth of experience

EUROPEAN SPA SUMMIT: Two days devoted to professionals in the sector
Resolutely linked to market realities and actual experiences, the program of = the European Spa Summit 2008 featured professionals (Spa managers, designers, spa consultants, equipment manufacturers, investors, etc.) with practical, concrete solutions for each step in the process. The European Spa Summit was once again a valuable forum for exchanging expertise in an innovative, dynamic sector.

EUROPEAN PHARMA SUMMIT: the “pharmacy of the future
The world of the pharmacy professional is changing! Consumer expectations have evolved, new technologies are emerging, new product ranges are being developed and new distribution channels are seeing the light. To keep a solid footing in this world in constant movement, today's pharmacist has to understand and adapt to the changes under way. This was the reasoning behind the European Pharma Summit, the first European meeting devoted to independent pharmacists alert to new challenges in their sector.

BEYOND BEAUTY PARIS Conferences: a preview of tomorrow's Beauty universe
The steering committee headed up by Sabine Chabbert, Editor in Chief of Beyond Beauty Magazine, proposed a far-ranging program of conferences common to the five concurrent trade shows that offered a wide open examination of the most powerful trends in the contemporary Beauty industry.

It was Standing Room Only for discussions centered on “Packaging, from Sound to Image”, new cosmetics regulations, “Waves of Color” in makeup, and a previously unscreened film, "Strolling Under the Skin", by Doctor Guimberteau.
