Braille printing: Product of the Day

M&H Plastics’ new process of printing Braille characters directly onto plastic packaging employs a high-build varnish which allows for printing the dots with very precise control measures. This benefit makes sure the Braille alphabet is consistent throughout the packaging run.

The Braille samples have been evaluated and successfully validated by The Royal National Institute of Blind (RNIB) people to make sure they are measured against the Marburg and RNIB standards. According to the RNIB, the 0.30 mm dot height readability of the samples was found to be above average. Also, the new method is BS EN 15823 compliant as an approved braille labelling system. 

The Braille process can be deployed in traditional screen printing which lets customers highlight particular design features when using the embossed effect.
