Dan Aykroyd Wines pour into the U.S.

Article-Dan Aykroyd Wines pour into the U.S.

Canadian-based Dan Aykroyd Wines are entering the U.S. marketplace with two new Sonoma-produced varietals, including a Discovery Series Chardonnay and a Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are made in partnership with the vintners of the Santa Rosa-based DeLoach Vineyards, owned by Jean-Charles Boisset, which will also serve as distributor for the Dan Aykroyd Discovery Series.

The wines will retail between $17.99 and $19.95. “Dan’s close involvement during the creation of these special cuvées alongside our winemaking team has borne wines that complement the unique style of each partner,” says Boisset.

This venture is the first international extension of the Dan Aykroyd Discovery Series wines that came about as a result of a conversation between Aykroyd and award-winning Sonoma wine producer, Boisset. Family Estates. “I am a big fan of the wines that are coming out of the Sonoma appellation, specifically DeLoach Vineyards,” says Aykroyd. “Jean Charles and his incredible team of winemakers consistently produce outstanding wines for which I am proud to attach my name.” The two wines will initially be available in California with select distribution in other markets including the House of Blues, which Aykroyd cofounded. A national rollout is planned early in 2009.
