The refrigerated bowls take the guesswork out of shopping for fruit. Packed at the peak of ripeness, the fruit is easily seen in the clear, plastic bowls, which feature a paperboard sleeve label. CBX, (www.cbx.com) a strategic branding consultancy, was selected to create a packaging design for Citrus Bowls, and wanted to help Del Monte grow the brand within the value-added section, located around the perimeter of the store where consumers look for healthy, new items. The package acts as a window within which to see the fruit. The round bowl is made of a barrier PP and is supplied by RPC Bebo (www.rpc-bebo.nl). The paperboard sleeve surrounding the 20-oz bowl provides a backdrop for minimal, elegant graphics. A closeup image of fruit on a fork stands out prominently on a white background, along with the message, “Ready to enjoy,” and the Del Monte brand logo, which rounds out the graphics.
